Controlled Burn: Fighting Fire with Fire

Controlled BurnThis was an unexpected, but strangely beautiful, sight after a long hike. This is the aftermath of a controlled burn, the goal of which is to maintain meadows for grazing animals, reduce the risk of wildfire by minimizing fuel, optimize critical wildlife habitat and reduce invasive or exotic species. It’s a necessary evil and nature bounces back very quickly. What do you think? Should we fight fire with fire?
